🌱 Spring Program
Spring Outdoor Adventures
for Kids in Eastern Ontario
Spring in Eastern Ontario hits different. 🌱 The snow melts, the mud arrives, and the forest wakes up. Animals are on the move. Birds are returning. And for families who love the outdoors, spring is the signal: it's time to get back out there.
Whether you're in Ottawa, Kingston, Cornwall, or anywhere across Eastern Ontario — spring is calling.

Mud Season Tracking
Spring mud is a tracker's paradise. Every animal in the forest leaves a story in the soft ground. Kids learn to identify tracks, understand animal behaviour, and read the landscape like a map.
Spring Wildlife Identification
Birds returning, animals emerging from winter dens, plants pushing through the soil. Spring is when the forest comes alive, and kids learn to identify what they're seeing.
Shelter-Building in Larose Forest
Kids practice building tarps, lean-tos, and natural shelters in real conditions. It's hands-on and it's fun.
Fire-Building in Wet Conditions
Spring means wet wood and damp conditions. Learning to build a fire in spring teaches kids real problem-solving. It's harder than summer fire-building — and way more satisfying.
Navigation & Orienteering
Maps and compasses in spring terrain. Kids learn to navigate when the landscape is changing — streams are running, trails are muddy, landmarks look different.
What to Wear & Bring in April–May
Spring in Eastern Ontario means unpredictable weather. Here's what we recommend:
Waterproof boots
mud is everywhere and it's glorious
Layers
mornings are cold, afternoons warm up fast
Rain jacket
spring showers are part of the experience
Change of clothes
kids will get muddy. That's the point.
Water bottle & snacks
we're usually out for 2–4 hours

FAQ: Spring Outdoor Activities
Is this program free?
Yes. Joining our Skool community and attending events is completely free. Our gear rental library (launching May) has small fees, but your first rental is free.
What age are spring activities for?
Kids ages 6–12 are our focus, but younger siblings and older teens are welcome. Everything is family-inclusive.
Do we need outdoor experience?
Nope. Zero experience needed. We teach everything from scratch. Parents guide the learning — it's not instructor-dependent.
What if it rains?
We go out in the rain. Spring rain is part of the experience. We teach kids how to stay comfortable in wet conditions — that's a real skill.
Can we join if we live outside Ottawa?
Absolutely. We organize events across Eastern Ontario — Kingston, Cornwall, Pembroke, and everywhere in between.

Ready to Welcome Spring Outdoors?
Spring is short. The mud dries up, the leaves come in, and the season shifts. Don't miss it. Your kids deserve to know how to track animals in spring mud, build a fire in wet conditions, and navigate through a waking forest.
