What Your Kids Will Learn This Summer

🔥

Fire-Building & Safety

Teaching kids to build and manage a safe campfire is a game-changer. It builds confidence, teaches respect for nature, and creates memories that last a lifetime.

🧭

Navigation & Compass Skills

Get your kids comfortable reading maps and using a compass. We practice in Larose Forest, Gatineau Park, and the Thousand Islands — real terrain, real learning.

🏕️

Shelter Construction

From tarps to lean-tos, kids learn to build shelter in different conditions. It's practical, it's fun, and it teaches problem-solving on the fly.

Camping Essentials

Sleeping bag setup, food storage, staying warm, staying dry. We cover all the basics so your first camping trip isn't overwhelming.

🌲

Wilderness Survival Mindset

More than skills, we teach kids to think like outdoor explorers. Stay calm, stay curious, stay safe.

Why Summer is the Best Time to Start

Summer gives you flexibility. No school schedules to work around. Warm weather means fewer barriers to getting outside. And families are actively searching for outdoor programs right now. 🎯

If you've been thinking "maybe next year," this is the year. Your kids are ready. You're ready. We're ready.

Where We Explore

📍

Canadian Shield Adventures

The Shield is our backyard. Granite cliffs, pristine lakes, ancient forests. It's where real wilderness learning happens.

📍

Thousand Islands & St. Lawrence River

Kayaking, shoreline exploration, island camping. The river corridor is incredible in summer.

📍

Larose Forest

Our go-to spot for regular meetups. Close to Ottawa, packed with trails, perfect for skill-building.

📍

Gatineau Park

Just across the river. Hiking, fire-building, wildlife spotting. We use it year-round.

The Gear Rental Library 🎁

4

Show up and learn — our community is parent-guided and hands-on. No experience needed.

"The community is so welcoming. We've made real friends."

FAQ: Summer Outdoor Programs

Is this really free?

Yes. Joining our Skool community and attending events is completely free. The gear rental library (launching May) has small fees ($3–$15/weekend), but your first rental is free.

What age are the activities for?

We focus on kids ages 6–12, but younger siblings and older teens are welcome. Everything is family-inclusive.

Do my kids need experience?

Nope. Zero experience needed. We teach everything from scratch. Parents guide the learning — it's not instructor-dependent.

What if we live far away (Kingston, Cornwall, Pembroke)?

We cover all of Eastern Ontario. We organize events across the region, and you can also connect with families near you through our community.

What about winter? Do you do activities year-round?

Absolutely. Winter is actually incredible for outdoor learning — animal tracking in snow, fire-building in cold weather, snowshoeing. We have a full winter program too.

How do I get started?
